Canal News.
As most of you are aware, the Association have
held the fishing rights on the Regents and
Hertford Union and various sections throughout
the Grand Union for over 100 years. The
Association has been in discussion with
British Waterways for some considerable time
and following these talks British Waterways
have decided that after 24th March 2003 they
will directly manage angling on the London
Canals themselves. We therefore only
control Denham Deep Lock to West Drayton Trout
Bridge, and Hunton Bridge to Tring. |

DO
YOU SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON ONE OF OUR
FISHERIES???
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN
HELPING TO MAINTAIN AND CONTROL THIS WATER???
We are always
looking for volunteers, members, anglers or
even non-anglers,
that wish to help with the control of our
fisheries.
These waters are spread through out the
South-East corner of England
and require persons that live close by to take
on this task.
A small
income is possible from the sale of Day
Tickets on some waters.
Our canals are one area that have vacancies at
this present time.

SCATTERING OF ASHES ON ASSOCIATION
VENUES.
Recently an incident took place at one of our
fisheries, regarding the scattering of ashes
by a deceased member's family. Whilst we
would very carefully consider any
request of this kind, we would ask that
members families are made aware permission
should be sought prior to any action being
taken. The Association has a large
number of rented and owned venues and should
the families wish to carry this out on a
rented venue the owners permission would have
to be obtained. Also on both rented and owned
venues we would have to obtain permission from
the Environment Agency who like us, we
understand are always willing to look kindly
on matters of this kind. We understand
also that at the time of a bereavement
member's families may not be aware of the laws
governing this practice and we would therefore
be grateful if this could be brought to your
members attention. |
