RIVER STOUR - SHALFORD MEADOWS.

This venue is primarily a roach and dace fishery. Average depth eight feet fair flow through low winding banks. No boats on this part but fairly wide.  Recently the Environment Agency have been stocking the river with Barbel, although these fish are not being placed in this venue a few seem to have moved in and small fish have been caught by our members.
From London take M11 to Junction 8 then A120 to Braintree and A131 through Braintree to Sudbury as approaching Sudbury take the Middleton Road.  This is sign-posted Middleton and Henny follow this to Henny look for bridge on the left, fishery starts at the bridge.
Alternatively from A12 to Junction with A1124 (Colchester and West Halstead)  follow this to Halstead through Eight Ash Green to Chapel, pass under the viaduct, take the first right to Mount Bures over the level crossing to the 'T' junction B1508 (Colchester Road) turn left to Bures.  At ‘Bures Antique Centre’ under the railway bridge and bear right. Follow this road to Henny, on reaching Henny look on right for bridge over river (Henny Bridge).

PARKING -
On the verges where no obstruction is caused.

ENTRANCE -
Cross over the river at Henny /Bridge. Turn right on the track leading to the river. Fishing between the notice boards. Approximately 800 yards.

Anyone above the age of 5 years may join.  Children below that age may be taken,
but may not fish and must be controlled completely by their parents.
Children below the age of 11 years MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT
and the application form must be countersigned by a parent/guardian.
