This is a back-stream leaving the canal over a weir it runs fast and has gravel runs. This  is our best barbel water on the lea. A river that was renowned for the species although in recent years their numbers have declined this is still a pleasant fishery and the barbel are still frequently caught. The chub are also predominant along with roach, dace, and perch. Included is the far side of the canal from the lock to the fence at the downstream end . This venue has a long walk from our official car parking.
ROUTE - From London take the A10T turning on to the A1170 to Broxbourne. Leave at the second roundabout, in approximately 1/4 mile turn right into Wharf Road.. Then down over railway to Lea Valley car park.
PARKING - In the Lea Valley Regional Park car park at river end of Wharf Road.
ENTRANCE - Turn right and follow towpath to the Aqueduct Lock. Go over the lock entrance to Kings Weir on the right.

WARNING ----- DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF POWER CABLES NO FISHING IS PERMITTED FROM THE TOWPATH SIDE OF THE CANAL.
