RIVER THAMES - CHOLSEY/ MOULSFORD.

 MEMBERS ONLY WATER.

On the west bank Cholsey Moulsford fishery is opposite and just upstream of south stoke so the same species of fish can be expected, some very large bream can be  found near the islands and the same applies to chub. However the terrain encountered to get there can prove to much for all but the fittest the less mobile of us may prefer swims at the start right by the car parking and some very good swims can be found in this part. Tree lined banks give plenty of features close in.
Great News!!!!!   Improved Access!!!!!

Members had great difficulty accessing swims at the far end of this fishery.  This has meant that in the past. that only the first part was used.  What a surprise when we visited this fishery recently to carry out work.  The Thames Valley Walkway has been constructed right along the length of this fishery. On the day we visited we were able to walk quite easily down as far as the Railway Bridge.  The path has been completely cleared of all trees and obstructions, and a wooden bridge was part built at the Railway Bridge over the marshy area.  We were informed that the path would be diverted back to the road at this point, which could quite possibly give us a second entrance.  (We will keep you informed regarding this.)  Perhaps if this is a venue you have not visited recently due to access problems, now might be good time to revisit!
