RIVER STOUR - SECRETARY’S FARM |

| This fishery found above Bures on a medium to slow part of the Stour fairly wide with short bends through open meadows with flood banks rising behind the angler good depth to swims six to eight feet banks are lined with bat willow. Excellent roach water with species also present bream, dace, tench and pike also barbel that have been stocked in the river higher up appear to be moving downstream and it seems that these fish are beginning to become established. |

| ROUTE - From London take A12 (M11 then A120) through Marks Tey then turn left on A604 through Eight Ash Green to Chappel, pass. under the viaduct, take the first right to Mount Bures over level crossing to the T junction B1508 (Colchester Road) turn left to Bures. | |

PARKING - Only in Claypits Avenue or in Association car park at Bures Lake. The proprietor of the Swan Public House ( opposite the entrance to the fishery) will take action against members who park on his forecourt. |
| ENTRANCE - At the side of ‘Bures Antique Centre’ in Colchester Road follow the footpath to where L.A.A. board is erected by blockhouse in the third meadow. | |
| BOUNDARY - From the blockhouse to upstream keeping to the river bank, for 1 mile where notice board is erected at the end of the boundary. | |
| SPECIAL DISABLED SWIMS - Two platforms suitable for disabled anglers can be found at the extreme end of the fishery. | |
| ENTRANCE FOR DISABLED ANGLERS ONLY - Disabled anglers should enter via Water Lane which is opposite the 'Swan P.H.' in Station Hill, then turn nto Secretaries Farm pass through the farm buildings and follow the track to the extreme end of the fishery. At this point a bridge wll be seen crossing the river. Two platforms will be seen just upstream of the bridge. Park of the road on left just behind the swims. Only two cars at any time to park at this point, Disabled Badges must be displayed. | |
