RIVER BEULT. (KENT) -
LONGFIELD MEADOW. |
 |
This is a fairly narrow but deep
section of the Beult with mainly open banks, flow is slow in summer when
floating duckweed is a problem, but liable to flash flooding in the winter
when it becomes very coloured. Average depth eight to ten feet. This is a
good roach water and good weights of fish are often returned in club
matches however bonus fish are quite common and usually consist of the
mainly tench or carp that seem to be increasing on this water. For the
pike angler their are plenty of fish but they are mostly small fish and
large specimens are hard to find the water also contains dace, bream and
chub. |

The duckweed often makes fishing difficult on this water, but if you can
make a hole and drop a float through, the fish will often feed right
through the day on this river, even in bright sun shine. |

PARKING -
In
lay-by just before bridge. Do not block gates. Also a car park is provided
at the bridge. Key Required. |

ENTRANCE -
At
the side of the bridge over a small ditch. Also an entrance can be found
by returning a short distance to the farm gate, where there is a
footpath to the fishery. |

BOUNDARIES -
From
Hunton Bridge upstream to a sign post. |

ROUTE -
From London
take M20 to Junction 2. Then follow A20 to Wrotham Heath, turn right on
B2016 (Seven Mile Lane ). Then on to A228 on the second roundabout at the
end of Seven Mile Lane turn left on B2015 then right on B2162 to Yalding
over the River Medway (Twyford Bridge) to Yalding Village. Turn left in
Yalding on B2010 over narrow bridge then turn right at War Memorial into
Vicarage Road, after 2.4 miles turn right into East Street, it is then 1
mile to Hunton Bridge. |

taken,
but may not fish and must be controlled completely by their
parents.
Children below the age of 11 years MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN
ADULT
and the application form must be countersigned by a
parent/guardian. |
