On the east bank Gatehampton farm fishery is near Goring on Thames. This a middle  Thames water slow and deep this makes for very good winter fishing it is some distance to the fishery from the car parking but this consists of mainly public footpaths. Good bags of bream and chub with sizeable perch always prepared to feed mean heavy nets are possible. Ledgering possibly the favoured method but float can score with the roach and dace. Plenty of slack water close in during times of flood tree lined banks. The famous child beale stretch at Pangebourne is opposite and their top weights in matches are often to anglers fishing across to our bank. .
ROUTE - From London take the M4 to junction 12 (A4 Theale). Turn left towards Newbury for one point three miles then at roundabout. Take the A340 to Pangebourne at the mini roundabout junction with the A329 and minor road take A329 towards Streatley (in 4 miles) at traffic lights in Streatley turn right onto B4009. Pass the railway station and continue on Gatehampton Road to a fork in the lane . Take the right hand fork labelled ‘ Gatehampton Park’ the straight on till a large area of concrete on the right hand side of the road conifers can be seen growing alongside this area.
PARKING - From this point turn right and proceed down through gate to the left of the farm buildings and onto large area of concrete turn immediately left and use grass just of the concrete to park notice board erected) do not obstruct any access to drives or buildings.
ENTRANCE - For fishery proceed on foot straight along footpath then turn right to river at the end of the training paddock. BOUNDARY - From the notice board 15 yards from the backwater downstream to a wire fence upstream of Hartslock Woods area about 250 yards.
The first part of this fishery is in dispute. We own the incorporeal fishing rights of the fishery and the owner of the land has no problem with our access. However we ask that members do not use the first 15yds of the fishery measured downstream from the back stream. We have reports of members being told we have no rights to the water when fishing beyond this point and being asked to move. If you are not on the first 15yds you should stay put and fish.
